Welcome and thank you so much for stopping by to check out my latest undertaking: blogging! I hope to use this space to creatively cultivate my love for food and nutrition by sharing all my kitchen adventures with you! I will be sharing info and recipes for my favorite seasonal ingredients, baking with the yummy grains left over from our home-brewing shenanigans, and discussing my favorite food challenge: camp cooking.
I grew up on the beautiful Central Coast of California, chowing down on clam chowder and fish tacos with sand between by toes. I graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelors of Science in Dietetics and minor in Biology , where I worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant, peer nutrition counselor, and was involved in community outreach programs promoting healthy eating. After graduating I sat for my credentialing exam and became a Registered Nutrition and Dietetic Technician and began working as part of the nutrition care team at a hospital in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area. I live here in the East Bay with my hubby and one very old, fluffy cat.
Now, I am venturing out on the next step of my journey, looking to hone my skills in the kitchen and do what I love most: talk about food! I believe that food affects not only our physical, but our emotional health, that comfort foods are good for the soul (in moderation of course…) and that cooking is an act of love.
